Why use a Down and Cotton blend instead of 100% pure down?
We use a strategic 55% Down / 45% Renewable Cotton hybrid to give you the best of both worlds. Pure down loses its insulation when wet; our synthetic cotton blend helps maintain warmth even in damp conditions (like Pacific Northwest morning dew or humid summer nights), while the 650FP duck down keeps the bag incredibly lightweight and compressible.
How do I wash this hybrid down sleeping bag?
Thanks to the durable 20D Nylon shell, it resists dirt easily. When a wash is needed, hand wash only. Do not machine wash or spin dry. Avoid frequent washing—spot clean with a damp cloth when possible. If needed, use a down-specific detergent, wash gently, rinse thoroughly, and air dry completely before storage.
Will this sleeping bag fit my current camping sleeping pad?
Yes! The bottom layer is designed as a sleeping pad sleeve (pad cover) that accommodates most standard rectangular or mummy sleeping pads used in the US (typically 20-25 inches wide). This integration keeps you securely on your pad all night.
I see "cold weather sleeping bags" mentioned. Can I use this in winter?
To be completely transparent, the ATEPA PeakVent is a 3 season sleeping bag with a comfort rating of 42.8°F (6°C). While its "extreme" survival rating touches 10°F, we highly recommend it for summer nights, beach camping, or mild early-fall backpacking.
