Comfortable and lightweight sleeping pad

This sleep pad packs decently small and is lightweight, which are both Important factors when backpacking. It is surprisingly thick and I do not feel the hard ground when shifting on it, nor do I bottom out when turning on my side. It is relatively quiet; it makes swishy noises when you brush the fabric but it doesn't crinkly when you lie on it. The storage bag doubles as an inflation device for the bag. You attach the nozzle on the bag to the sleep pad and trap air in the bag and squeeze it into the pad. I have a couple different brand sleeping pads that have a similar set up to this. I don't like this inflation bag because the bag is small, the wide end opening is finicky to work with, and there is velcro sen onto the inflation bag that I am certain will rip after only a few uses. That only knocks one star though because there are other ways to inflate a sleep pad. I question the R value of 6.6. I didn't see an official ASTM F3340 R-value rating, so this must just be what the company decided to give its pad. I suspect this pad will be best suited to mild weather backpacking, but I winter camp so I will bring it along to test on our next trip after the new year.Bottom line: I like this pad, its comfy, light and packs to a backpack friendly size. I can forgive the design flaws of the inflation bag. ...and I will report back with how the r value is in the winter.

Generous Size, Light Weight, With Good Insulation

A lot to like about the ATEPA Insulated Sleeping Pad.For backpacking the size and weight are reasonable.Packed down to 9" X 4" diameter, weighed in at about 1 lb. 11 ounces. I pictured it next to a one quart bottle.Inflated, it measured about 76" Long X 25.5" wide and just over 3" thick. Not as noisy as some lightweight pads that have the annoying crinkly sound every time you move. This pad does make some noise on its surface, and may be a bit slippery with a synthetic shell sleeping bag on top.I tried it inside my Sleep Sack which features a cotton fitted sheet on the bottom and a down quilted top.It reduced the noise, and warmed quickly, you can really feel the pad reflecting heat back to you, very cozy.Comfort is great, I'm 5' 10" 165 lbs., I only touched ground when sitting upright. It's advertised to be easily inflated, which it is. Using the included compression inflation/stuff sack, it took about 12 bagfuls of air to firmly inflate. Be careful to securely close the inflation valve upon inflation. I have woken to flat mattresses a few times due to my own negligence, not a leaky sleep pad.The included repair kit consists of two 2" square cloth patches, no adhesive provided.Refer to the Amazon ad for information, no real instructions included.A nice combination of reasonable pack size, light weight, easy inflation, and low noise, with very good insulating warmth.

Great price

Like other reviewers, I can't confirm the warmth of this pad since the weather isn't cold enough here yet. Beyond that though it is similar to another pad I have that cost more than twice this amount. It blows up easy enough and holds air well. It's pretty comfortable and no more noisy than my other one. It seems to be well made so I have a good feeling about it. Only time and winter will tell if it sleep warm enough and if it's durable.

Compact and Comfortable with Promising Features

This air pad impressed me with how compact and lightweight it is—it packs down to about the size of a water bottle, making it ideal for backpacking. The material feels durable, and the 4+ inch thickness provides solid comfort and support, even for side-sleepers. It’s easy to inflate and deflate with the one-way valve, which prevents any air leaks.I haven’t tested the insulation yet, but with a 6.6 R-value and multi-layer design, it seems well-suited for colder conditions. I’ll update after trying it on cold ground, but so far, it’s a solid choice for a portable and comfortable sleeping pad and beats the competition for pricing!

Very comfortable!

I have a number of inflatable mattresses.A couple of pretty expensive ones and a few cheap-o ones too I use as loaners. This is easily the most comfortable pad I own.I haven't been out to test the insulation in cold weather yet, but I will in a couple of weeks. If there are issues with that, I'll update this review.I am super impressed with the weight-to-comfort ratio though. At 27" wide, it is plenty wide enough for even a big guy like me to stretch out on without feeling like I'm going to roll off.I'm a side sleeper, and it's thick enough that i don't bottom out on it.The only reason I didn't go 5 stars is that the stuff sack, which also doubles as an inflation bag, tore the first time I tried to use it.The nozzle that attaches the sack to the pad is secured to the sack by a strip of velcro. When I went to undo the velcro, the fabric ripped before the velcro released.See attached photos. This tore a big hole in the sack rendering it useless as an inflation bag. Not a deal breaker for me as I usually use a flex tail rechargeable electric pump to inflate my pads anyway, (it doubles as a tent lamp too!)I just hope the mattress is more durable than the sack.Anyway the pad is crazy comfortable. Let's see how long it lasts...
